Ron Garlinger, age 51, 701 S. Western Ave., Portland, passed away Monday at his residence. He was born in Portland on May 11, 1966, the son of Tom and Kathryn (Ingle) Garlinger. He had worked at FCC, Key Fastener, Car Quest, Como Service and was a mechanic. He was a 1984 Jay County High School graduate and was known as the golf cart guy.
Surviving are his mother Kathryn Garlinger of Portland; one son, Kyle Garlinger of Portland; one daughter, Katie Masters (husband: Wil) of Redkey; sister Lisa Ellis of Portland; and two grandchildren, Alylah Garlinger and Grayson Holdstock.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Morgan presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday.
