Backing accident
A Jay County woman and a Blackford County woman were involved in a vehicle collision Monday afternoon.
Natalie R. Inman, 50, Hartford City, was driving east on county road 400 South and stopped at its intersection with Indiana 1. She told Jay County Sheriff’s Office a semi truck traveling south on Indiana 1 was turning right onto county road 400 South and crossed the center line.
Inman backed her 2010 Chevrolet Equinox up to avoid being hit, striking the front end of the car driven by Jennay D. Thobe that was stopped behind hers. Thobe, 27, Portland, was driving a 2012 Cadillac SRX registered to Jason R. Thobe, Portland.
Damage in the 12:10 p.m. accident is estimated to be between $1,000 and $2,500.
