Trump editorial was based on bias
Letters to the editor
To the editor:
I have a question for you, J.R.
What ever happened to unbiased journalism?
I am referring to your Jan. 9 editorial.
In it, you were discussing what “constitutionally” should be done in case of an assassination attempt that mentally incapacitated a sitting president, which is a good question if you hadn’t gone on a tangent about the present-day president of our United States of America.
You mentioned “serious talk by serious people.” Why didn’t you mention the names of those “serious” people? Also, “disturbing anecdotes” and “first-hand comments arising in the past severaldays thanks to a remarkable fly-on-the-wall account.”
I would suggest you tone down your comments on something that has been proven as just a work of fiction — all lies. And this was told by people quoted as saying these things when the author of this book wrote it. It has been proven that he never talked to our President Trump (who you werecalling “nuts” in so many words of insinuation) nor had this author honestly talked to others mentioned as “fact.”
If there is, and I quote you, “something is seriously out of kilter — mentally, physically, emotionally or a combination of all three — with the man who sits behind the desk in the Oval Office,” I say more of our Congress needs to be so mentally incapacitated. He is a man who has faults just like the rest of us, but I believe he is rebuilding America just as he promised to do and is making all of us safe. He ran on that exact platform.
He is a man who sees what America has come to because of all the party politics and actions of our previous administration. And, by some, he is considered “crazy”
He’s a “crazy” man who speaks the truth about things. Most of the people in Washington don’t even know what is the truth anymore.
Don’t you realize, unless this country comes together and brings government back to “by the people, for the people” there willnot longer be a free, democratic country. The last administration sowed so much distrust and racism in the last eight years that I am afraid for all of us if it continues.
I grew up with true racism, and it wasn’t and isn’t right. And what they are now calling racism is nothing but a lot of biased people, who they, themselves, are racist, and just want to cause trouble. But that is over — and the party using that term and politically correct terms are trying to sow dissension.
If you will look into a Marxist (communist) handbook, you will see all the things that the left is using to bring American down, to become a communist country. And before you put me off as a mentally deranged Trump follower, I would ask you to start thinking about preserving what America stands for.
When someone in government — either party — does something wrong, I want them to come to justice. I want everyone in our government to start doing what is the right thing to do for America and I will continue to pray for all of our leaders as the Bible instructs all of us to do. If you and I will make a habit to follow the two greatest commandments, which are to love God with all our heart, soul and body, then to love each other as ourselves, we will sow unity, not division. And in the process, perhaps we will get some to learn and follow also.
You will find only the innocent, such as good,god-fearing black and white people, suffer when you sow division and lack of respect for the highest office in these United States. You are free to express your own opinion, but you should not do so if it is based on hearsay and untruths. I was taught to never believe everything I hear and only half of what I see. For there are many half truths being handed out as true.
I am asking you to do your part to get unity back into thiscountry, if you want a free, democratically elected, honest country for the future.
Sincerely,
Brenda Fennig
