West Jay announces honor roll

West Jay Middle School named its honor roll for the second nine-week grading period.
Making the all A honor roll in sixth grade were Madyson Fraley, Hayden Hardman, Willow Hardy, Reece Leavell, Matthew Miller, Parker Nichols, Erin Ring, Samantha Sager and Alana Trissel.
Sixth graders making the A-B honor roll were Jason Ayala, Mackenzie Brown, Trevin Dunnington, Darren Fisher, Liam Garringer, Mollie Hines, Caden Hull, Peyton Lykins, Makinsey Murphy, Emma Outcalt, Kaley Pettus, Aiden Stephens and Lucas Timmerman.
Making the all A honor roll in seventh grade were Courtney Benter, Gabriela Bilbrey, Danyelle Bland, JaiDi Brunson, Haylea Hough, Abigail Johnson, Grace Shimp, Julian Vance, Jaiden Watson and Isaiah Weekley.

To celebrate
Jay County Christian Academy will celebrate National School Choice Week on Jan. 25 with an open house at 6 p.m.
The event will feature student speakers and a bounce ball drop.
National School Choice Week is the nation’s largest celebration of opportunity in education featuring more than 20,000 participating schools.

Julayne Ross from Jay County Hospital will speak at 6 p.m. Monday at Jay County Public Library, 315 N. Ship St.
She will discuss the use of vitamins and supplements and answer questions.
The Hook & Needles Club will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Start out the New Year by starting a new project or technique. Bring a project or learn how to crochet from one of the crafters.
Writers Guild will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29.
Story & Fun Time will be at 10 a.m. Monday and Tuesday and again on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30.
Mother Goose will visit at 10 a.m. Friday and again on Jan. 26.
Lego Challenge will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. today and again on Jan. 25.
Blood drive
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in February.
It will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the gym at Redkey Elementary, 500 W. Main St.
