Helen Harris

Helen R. Harris, 93, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Persimmon Ridge in Portland, Indiana.

She was born on Thursday, Feb. 28, 1924, in Bryant, Indiana. Helen was a graduate of Bryant High School. She had worked for Jay Garment, Portland, Indiana, Dryden Rubber, Montpelier, Indiana, CTS, Berne, Indiana, Corning Glass, Dunkirk, Indiana, Dunbar, Berne, Indiana, TJ's convenience store in Geneva, Indiana, and also in Willshire, Ohio. Helen enjoyed reading.

Loving survivors include her sons, Terry Lee (Joan) Kongar, Bryant, Indiana, and Jerry A. Harris, Geneva, Indiana; her sister, Hazel (Dale) Noble, The Villages, Florida; two grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilmer L. Pyle; mother, Ruth E. (Risen) Pyle; son Sherman T. Kongar; son Blake O. Reese; sister Edna Baker Ray; brother Sherman Pyle; and sister Pearl Champ.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva, on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, from 2 to 8 p.m.

A service to celebrate Helen’s life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, with the Rev. Paul VanCise officiating. Interment will follow in the Daugherty Cemetery in Bryant.

Arrangements are being handled by Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva.
