Ida Annabelle Helm
Ida Annabelle Helm, 83, of 801 W. Main St., Redkey, Indiana, passed away at 4:13 p.m. Saturday, June 30, while in the company of family members at Persimmon Ridge, Portland.
Ida was born in Dunkirk, Indiana, on Sept. 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Nellie A. (Davis) and Kenneth L. Younger.
She was a lifetime member of the Redkey Church of the Nazarene, and held many roles such as piano player, worship leader and Sunday School teacher.
Ida loved floral design, cooking for her grandchildren, antiquing, yard sales, photography and working as a volunteer with the Jay County Hospital Auxiliary.
She worked as an inspector at the Jay Garment Co.
She was a 1952 graduate of Redkey High School.
Ida is survived by a son Douglas (wife: Lu Ann) Helm of Redkey, Indiana; two grandchildren, Nathan (wife: Mollie) Helm of Noblesville, and Aaron (wife: Katie) Helm,of Redkey; two sisters, Betty Jacobs (husband: Bill) of Redkey, Indiana, and Gladys Sain of Redkey, Indiana; two brothers, Jack Younger (wife: Reva) of Redkey, Indiana, and David Younger (wife: Jean) of Pennville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Madonna Belt; and husband, Lewis Franklin Helm.
Friends may call at the Redkey Church of The Nazarene on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with funeral services to immediately follow with Pastor Rob Farris officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in honor of Ida Annabelle Helm to the Redkey Church of The Nazarene.
Services have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel.
