Possession
A man pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to two drug-related charges.
Branden O. LeMaster, 32, whose last known address was in Salamonia, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession or use of a legend drug, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to serve 18 months in Jay County Jail with all but 180 days suspended and given 44 days credit for 22 days served. He was assessed court costs of $185 and placed on formal probation for one year. As part of a plea agreement, a charge of possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, was dismissed.
In a separate case, LeMaster also pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to Jay County Jail for 18 months, to be served consecutively to the sentence for the previous charge. All but 180 days were suspended and he was given 180 days credit for 90 days served. He was assessed court costs of $185 and placed on formal probation for one year.
Probation violation
A Portland man was sentenced in Jay Superior Court to additional jail time for violating his probation.
Joshua R. Pitman, 32, 1237 N. U.S. 27, Lot 63, was found in violation of his probation on the original charge of two counts of forgery, Level 6 felonies. He was ordered to serve an additional 270 days of the sentence originally imposed on April 25, 2017. His probation was terminated unsuccessfully.
Probation terminated
An Albany woman had her probation terminated unsuccessfully in Jay Circuit Court.
Erica M. Robbins, 30, 760 N. Broadway, Lot 23, was found in violation of her probation on the original charge of dealing in a Schedule III controlled substance, a Class B felony, which she was sentenced for on Feb. 7, 2013. Robbins was sentenced to time served and her probation was terminated.
Escape
A Muncie woman was sentenced recently in Jay Circuit Court.
Dana Salyer, 39, 1403 W. Memorial Drive, Apartment B, was sentenced to four years in Indiana Department of Correction on the charge of escape, a Level 5 felony. Salyer pleaded guilty to the charge on May 31. One year was suspended, one year will be served at the DOC and the remaining time will be served on electronically monitored home detention. She was given credit for 14 days served and assessed court costs of $185.

A Dunkirk man pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to a drug-related charge.
Travis N. Sewell, 2045 N. 700 East, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to serve 282 days in Jay County Jail and was given 282 days credit for 141 days served. Sewell was fined $100 and assessed court costs of $185.
