Betty Jean Shultz, age 87, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, at her rural Portland home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Union Chapel Church, the Women’s Auxiliary of Gideons International and Christian Women’s Fellowship.
Betty was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Alton and Alma (Franke) Liddy. She was married on Dec. 24, 1948, to Lewis Shultz and he passed away on Oct. 4, 2013.
Survivors include:
Two sons — Steve Shultz (wife: Cassie), Portland, Indiana, and Timothy Shultz (wife: Kim), Carbondale, Colorado
Three daughters — Anita Frasher (husband: Dave), Portland, Indiana, Tina Gresenz (husband: Bob), Orange, California, and Tamara Sisler (husband: Tom), Hartford City, Indiana
Two sisters — Darlene Gennaitte, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Sandy Crosley, Grand Rapids, Michigan
Fourteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Meeks.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Union Chapel Church, 6238 N. 375 W., Bryant, Indiana. Pastor Mike Morgan will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
