Reader gets sick of Trump
To the editor:
I developed severe neck pain and felt a visit to my doctor was in order.
Procuring a speedy appointment left me slightly chagrined. My doctor advised me, upon examination, that I was suffering from “Deranged Trump Syndrome.”
He further elaborated that he had seen a lot of this malady since 2016. He told me they were developing a vaccine against the affliction from the blood of sheep since they seemed to be immune to its affects.
My doctor advised me further that, until a vaccine was developed and proven safe, to drink fluids and get plenty of rest.
I laughed and told him that would be easy since I was retired and had ready access to a bathroom and a bed.
Much to my astonishment upon arriving back at my domicile I found this story: It seems that President Donald Trump had set a house on fire (tariffs) but was now requesting $12 billion to buy a fire truck (aid to the farmers whose house he set ablaze).
I can only hope and pray and keep in my thoughts the president’s admonition to not pay any attention to what we read, see or hear because it didn’t happen.
I was pleased to see that the president borrowed a paragraph from the George Orwell novel, “1984.” I would have thought that a literary work of that caliber would be several levels above his intellectual pay grade.
I am just glad I have Medicare and hope they get the vaccine soon.
