Reiko Sockrider, age 89, a former Portland resident, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, at her home in Indianapolis.
She retired from CTS in Berne after 29 years. She attended the First Baptist Church in Portland.
Reiko Sockrider was born March 2, 1929, in Yokohama, Japan, the daughter of Taeroku Mitue (Ageoka) Hashimoto. She was married to Luther Sockrider on May 28, 1953.
Survivors include:
Her beloved husband — Luther Sockrider, Indianapolis, Indiana
A daughter — Carolyn Longoria (husband: Max), Indianapolis, Indiana
Two sisters-in-law — Mary Lu Premer, Pennville, Indiana, and Alta Slusser, Portland, Indiana
Four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Yasuo Hashimoto.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel at Green Park Cemetery in Portland. Jim Wright will officiate the services.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services in the Chapel.
