Dwight Shaneyfelt

Dwight F. Shaneyfelt, 62, Berne died Wednesday in Berne.

He was born May 6, 1955, in New Castle to Frederick and Lena Mae (Huff) Shaneyfelt. On Dec. 30, 2000, he married Kathy Kuhn, who survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He worked at FCC in Berne and had previously worked at Universal Metal Craft, Decatur.

He attended Cross Community Church in Berne. He was a member of the Portland Moose Lodge and his interests included riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and bowling.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Natalie Ann Shaneyfelt, Fort Wayne; a son, David Shaneyfelt, Florida; a brother, Tony Shaneyfelt, Portland; two sisters, Merriam Shaneyfelt and Sue Shaneyfelt, both of Portland; two step-daughters, Melissa (Charles) Loshe, Decatur, and Crystal (Phil) Amstutz, Berne; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Brian Shaneyfelt.

At Shaneyfelt’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
