Backing accident 

Two county residents were involved in a vehicle collision Friday at Jay County High School. 

Nina G. McShane, 17, Bryant, told Jay County Sheriff’s Office she was backing a 2008 Pontiac G6V registered to Lisa Cook, Bryant, out of a space at the school at 2072 Indiana 67, Portland. She didn’t see the 2008 Saturn Aura that Ashley M. Adkins, 17, Dunkirk, was driving that was heading south in the parking lot. The vehicles collided, causing estimated damage between $1,000 and $2,500. The Saturn is registered to Roger Adkins, Dunkirk. 

The collision occurred at 11:45 a.m. 

In area courts 

Several area residents were involved in civil cases in Wells Superior Court. 

Bluffton Regional Medical Center was awarded $1,040.87 from Nancy S. Hower, Geneva. The center was also awarded $3,218.01 from Jessica M. Dunn, Bryant. 

AAA Acceptance Corp. was awarded $2,592.33 from Joshua Burnett, Bryant.
