Former Jay County residents Steve and Roberta Engle, Griffin, Georgia, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Pomona United Methodist Church in Griffin.
The couple were married on May 25, 1968, at Zion Lutheran Church in Portland, by Pastor Mark Kraus.
Steve is a 1964 graduate of Dunkirk High School and is the son of H.W. Engle Jr. and Phyllis (Cheeseman) Engle. He graduated from Ball State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in earth science and was a high school teacher in Atlanta. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Roberta graduated from Portland High School in 1965. Her parents are Dale R. and Betty (Wyrick) Yaney. She retired from the marketing department of Delta Airlines in Atlanta.
They are the parents of Todd Bradley Engle (wife: Mandy). They also have two grandchildren.
The couple reside at 516 Pale Beauty Court, Griffin, GA 30223.
