New York author to speak in Fort Recovery
U.S. history author William Hogeland, of Brooklyn, New York, will speak at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Nazarene Family Center, 401 E. Boundary St. in Fort Recovery.
Hogeland is the author of “Autumn of the Black Snack,” “The Whiskey Rebellion,” “Declaration,” and “Founding Finance.”
The presentation is funded by the Fort Recovery State Museum and a grant from the Fort Recovery Community Foundation.

Summer Time Fun Bunch begins Friday at Jay County Public Library for toddlers, preschoolers and early elementary-aged children.
It will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. and will include crafts, sensory bins and creative play. Summer Time Fun Bunch will continue Friday, June 15, 22 and 29.
Family interaction specials will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with Create a Bottle Buddy between 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Minnetrista Theatre at 5:30 p.m., both on Monday; and Life-size Candyland from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, June 25, and noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23.
Summer programs for teens will include jewelry making at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and tape-a-palooza, to create crafts with washi and duct tape, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20.
For teens and adults, a euchre round-robin tourney will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 18; and trivia night will be at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27.
Blood drive
Jay County High School Patriot Band Boosters and the Marching Patriots are giving back to the community by sponsoring an American Red Cross community blood drive.
It will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Friday in the JCHS Auxiliary Gym. To schedule an appointment, call (260) 726-5377 or sign up online at redcrossblood.org with the sponsor code “jaychs.”
