Teachers to have art exhibit
Arts Place, Blackford County Arts Center, will have the exhibit “Art Teachers as Artists.”
Kathy Ayers, an art teacher at Jay County High School, and retired Jay School Corporation art teacher Leslie Newton will have their works on display Monday through July 12 at the facility at 107 W. Washington St. in Hartford City.
Ayers will exhibit her collection of oil paintings featuring rural landscapes and Newton will show recent oil paintings of landscapes and Native American sites from Northern New Mexico where she spent six weeks.
A free public reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 24. The Blackford County Arts Center is open from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m. each Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second Saturday
