Backing accident 

A Portland teen hit a car Friday while backing up the vehicle she was driving. 

Allison M. Hernandez, 17, told Portland Police Department she was backing a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox out of a space at Circle K South, 729 S. Meridian St., when she struck a parked 2017 Kia Sorento registered to Louwana K. Cline, Portland. The Equinox is registered to Frida D. Hernandez, Portland. 

Damage in the 1:31 p.m. collision is estimated to be less than $1,000. 

Vehicle collision 

A Portland man and an Illinois man were involved in a vehicle collision Friday in the Walmart parking lot. 

Ryan S. McIntire, 42, Portland, told Portland Police Department he drove out of Murphy’s USA gas station at 990 W. Votaw St. when he struck Olin R. Waltz Jr.’s 2004 Ford. Waltz, 48, Christman, Illinois, was driving north through the adjacent Walmart parking lot. McIntire was driving a 2003 Ford F150, registered to William M. Cox, Albany. 

Damage in the 8:46 a.m. accident is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500. 

Spray painted 

A Portland woman reported vandalism to her garage Friday. 

Patty May, who lives on Ship Street, told Portland Police Department someone had spray painted her garage door.
