Charlene Himes

May 22, 1945-June 14, 2018

Charlene E. Himes, 73, of Redkey, Indiana, passed away at 6:35 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018, peacefully while in the company of family members, at her residence.

Charlene was born in Union City, Indiana, on May 22, 1945, a daughter of the late Kathleen E. (Cotter) and Charles Moore. She was a graduate of Union City High School and the wife of David E. Himes who she happily married on Nov. 29, 1968.

Charlene retired from St. Gobain in Dunkirk, Indiana, where she worked as an inspector. She was a member of Local Union #96, attended Redkey Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed word find books, cooking, flowers, jewelry, listening to Elvis & 50's music, watching Golden Girls & the Hallmark Channel, trips to Florida every year and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Charlene is survived by her husband David; two daughters, Diane Imel (husband: Stan) and Melissa Goodman (husband: Jerry); two brothers, James Moore (wife: Sandy) and Thomas Michael “Mick” Moore (wife: Carol Sue); one sister, Marilyn Hery; one sister-in-law, Elsie Moore; five grandchildren, Tyler Imel, Cody Imel (wife: Shauna), Vernon Goodman (fiancé: Kaylee), Hunter Goodman and Harmony Goodman; and one great-grandchild, Layla Imel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Moore.

Friends are invited to call Monday, June 18, 2018, from 10 a.m. to noon at MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel. Funeral services will follow at noon with

Pastor Rob Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's' Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel.
