Leoris Williamson
Leoris J. Williamson, age 87, a resident of Portland, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018m at Persimmon Ridge in Portland.
Leoris was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Portland the son of Darwin J. and Alta (Orr) Williamson. He graduated from Portland High School in 1950 and from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1953.
Leoris was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1950 to 1952. Leoris worked at Pasco Funeral Home in Greenfield for six years and was a building contractor in Portland for nearly 50 years.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee for many years. Other memberships included Portland Breakfast Optimist Club where he had perfect attendance for over 30 years and served on the board of directors. He also served on the Executive Board of Boy Scouts #206 and was a Cub Scout Master for five years.
Leoris married Betty Jean White on June 28, 1953, and she survives. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this week.

One brother — Darrel N. Williamson (wife: Faye), Portland, Indiana
One sister-in-law — June Marie Williamson, Portland, Indiana
Three grandchildren — Claire Walsh (husband: Adam), Cincinnati, Ohio, Christina Getz (husband: Brian), Indianapolis, Indiana, and Katy Williamson, Lucerne, Indiana
Nine step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Cousins, and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bill Williamson, Hamor Williamson and Verl Williamson; and granddaughter Anna Williamson.
Visitation will be Sunday July 1 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Williamson, Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral will be Monday July 2 at 11 a.m. with an hour of visitation before the service at Williamson, Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
Pastor Roger Doming will officiate and burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
Memorials may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church or Museum of the Soldier. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
