Marlys Saxman

Marlys A. Saxman, age 76, of Redkey, passed away Monday evening at her residence.

She was born in Eagle Bend, Minnesota, the daughter of Burns and Elizabeth (Ohman) Ross. She was married Sept. 6, 1958, to Paul Saxman and he died Sept. 9, 2013.

She was owner and operator of Saxman Auction Barn and Saxman's Boarding Kennels was a dog groomer for over 50 years, worked at Redkey Veterinary Clinic and drove a school bus for 17 years. She was a member of Central Indiana Boxer Association.

Surviving are two sons, Bradley Saxman of Redkey and William Saxman (wife: Misty) of Portland; two sisters Sandy Casari of California and Charlene Holley of Lafayette; brother-in-law Doug Saxman of Redkey; sister-in-law Clela Saxman of Yorktown; four grandchildren Collin, Abigail, Grace and Sophia; and her beloved pets Izzy and Winnie.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Davis presiding. Burial will be in the Stateline Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
