Martha Kistler

Martha E. Kistler, 92, of Redkey, Indiana, passed away peacefully Friday, March 9, 2018, at Brookdale of Castleton in Indianapolis, Indiana, while in the company of family members.
Martha was born in Jennings County, Indiana, on Sept. 1, 1925, a daughter of the late Goldie M. (Leeds) and Joseph F. Hughey.
She was a graduate of Vernon High School in Jennings County, Indiana, and a devoted homemaker and loving wife for Charles Moore Kistler, who preceded her.
She and Charles where married on April 7, 1951, and had three beautiful daughters together — Karen Shreeve (Roger), Paula Puterbaugh and Cindy Copeland (Jeff), all who survive her.
Martha was a member of Delta Theta Tau Zeta Alpha Chapter and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dunkirk, Indiana. She loved her family dearly and spending time with her many grandchildren enjoying their shared loved of music over the years.
Martha is survived by 10 grandchildren, Arlena Cook, Melissa Morris (Paul), Michelle Cox (Brian), Sarah Westgerdes (Matt), Charles Shreeve, Marsha Swanson (Mark), Jennifer Puterbaugh, Erina Miller (Paul), Matthew Rooney and Kevin Rooney; one step-grandson, Larry Shreeve (Julie); 11 great-grandchildren, Madalin, Lorelei, Josey, Sam, Rex, Eric, Hank, Eli, Eileen, Maggie and Leo; and four step-great-grandchildren, Shaliyah, Kyrell, Alyana and Lavon.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles; three brothers; seven sisters; a son-in-law, David Puterbaugh; and step-granddaughter April Shreeve.
Friends are invited to call Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 10 a.m. to noon at MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel, followed by the funeral at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dunkirk, Indiana, with Fr. David Newton officiating at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dunkirk, Indiana, P.O. Box 286, Dunkirk, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel
