COLUMBUS, Ohio — Payton Jutte put his name in the Tribe record book this year.
He also earned all-conference honors.
Monday he added another feather in his cap.
Jutte, a Fort Recovery High School junior, was given special mention by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association for Division III All-Ohio on Monday, the OHSAA announced.
The 6-foot, 4-inch, guard scored 18.7 points per game in leading the Indians to a 15-10 record, which included a sectional championship for the third consecutive season.
During his breakout season, Jutte tied Bob Leverette — he’s a 1995 FRHS graduate and current Tribe assistant coach — for the most 3-pointers in a season with 74. He scored 468 points as a junior, the 13th most points in a single season in program history, and he pushed his career scoring total to 703 points, including 101 baskets from long range.
For his efforts this year, Jutte was also named All-Midwest Athletic Conference first team. He was the lone FRHS member to receive the honor.
