His collegiate track career is winding down.
But a former Patriot is still performing at his best.
Zane Shreve, a 2014 Jay County High School graduate, set three new career marks Saturday for the Miami University men’s track team during the RedHawk Invitational it hosted.
The senior was fourth in the pole vault with a height of 4.15 meters, the best of his career. He also had a time of 15.65 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles (seventh) and a distance of 40.69 meters injavelin (eighth), which were also the best results of his career.
The former regional qualifier was also eighth in long jump (6.18 meters) and ninth inhigh jump (1.7 meters).

Jay County – 2014
Also competed in the RedHawk Invitational Saturday as a member of the Fort Wayne Mastodons women’s track team.
The senior was 22nd in the 800-meter run with her time of 2 minutes, 33.86 seconds.
Victoria Angelopoulos of Wright State won in 2:14.22.
Collin Affolder
South Adams – 2014
Ended his college baseball career on a 15-game hitting streak as the Bethel College baseball team split a doubleheader with Grace College on Tuesday in the season finale.
Affolder was 3-for-10 with a double in thetwinbill as the Pilots (17-28, 8-18 Crossroads League) lost the first game 15-13 before taking the second 8-6 in 10 innings to get the split.
The senior also collected four hits in a doubleheader against Marion on Saturday before a two-hit effort on Monday against IU South Bend.
Affolder finished the season with a .348 batting average with nine doubles, one triple and shared the team-lead with six home runs. He also had 28 RBIs and walked 19 times.
Chandler Ingle
South Adams – 2014
Didn’t factor into the decision for the Goshen College baseball team Monday in a 5-4 loss to Trinity Christian.
The senior started on the mound, allowing four runs — three earned — on seven hits over five innings. He struck out one and walked a pair. Ingle was the pitcher of record in the top of the sixth inning as the Maple Leafs (22-27, 12-15 Crossroads League) tied the game. He gave way to the bullpen, which allowed the game-winning run in the seventh inning.
The Maple Leafs will be seeded sixth in the Crossroads League tournament, which begins Friday.
Kyle Selvey
Jay County – 2014
Went 1-for-3 for the Huntington University baseball team Monday in an 11-6 loss to the Marian Knights.
Starting at third base, Selvey registered one hit but wasn’t able to plate a run.
He was hitless Friday and again in a doubleheader Saturday before breaking a three-game slump.
Selvey and the Foresters (18-22, 16-10 Crossroads League) enter the conference tournament as the No. 3 seed. They meet No. 6 seeded Goshen at 10 a.m. Friday in the first round of the double-elimination tournament.
Katelin Augsburger
South Adams – 2017
Struggled in the only inning she pitched for the University of Saint Francis softball team as it lost the Crossroads League tournament opener Wednesday morning to Indiana Wesleyan.
The freshman entered in relief, allowing four earned runs on three hits in just one inning. She walked one as the Cougars lost 8-0. USF lost later Wednesday to Huntington 2-1, bowing out of the tournament and finishing the year 23-26.
Augsburger was 7-11 on the season with a 6.1 ERA. She struck out 56 and walked 63 in 79 2.3 innings.
Jackson Hobbs
Fort Recovery – 2016
Pitched in relief for the Edison State Community College on Monday in an 8-3 loss toUniversity of Northwestern Ohio in the first game of a doubleheader.
The sophomore surrendered one run on two hits in 2 2/3 innings of work. He also struck out one batter.
Hobbs has appeared in 12 games for the Chargers (15-22), starting seven, and has a 2-3 record with a 5.35 earned run average. He has 29 strikeouts in 38 2/3 innings.
