Swiss Heritage Village to open Saturday

Taking Note

Activities at Swiss Heritage Village in Berne will begin Saturday.

The annual Touch a Truck event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tractors, emergency response vehicles and cars and trucks form local businesses will be on hand to check out.

Lutheran Air will fly in at approximately 11 a.m. and a police dog demonstration will begin at 12:30 p.m. There will also be a monster truck bounce house.

Swiss Heritage Village will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 19 and 26. 



Recitals to be held

MusicWorks students at Arts Place Portland Center, 131 E. Walnut St., will hold free recitals.

Students playing guitar and string instruments will perform at 10 a.m., piano and voice students at 12:30 p.m. and wind and percussion at 3 p.m., all on Saturday. 

MusicWorks ensembles and Jay County Community Band will perform at 7 p.m. on  May 9. 

MusicWorks students at Blackford County Arts Center, 107 W. Washington St. in Hartford City, will have recitals for students who receive private lessons at 3 p.m. on Sunday. A recital for those taking group guitar lessons will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, and a recital for students taking group piano lessons will be at 6 p.m. on  May 11.
