Sally Starr, age 65, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.  

Sally was born on May 28, 1952, the daughter of Melvin and Anna Mae (Cline) Hart.  She earned an associated degree in nursing from Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne.  Sally worked in the healthcare field for 30 years.  She was a member of Westchester United Methodist Church and Limberlost Squares.  Sally married Marvin Starr on April 12, 1975.  

Survivors include:  

Her husband:  Marvin Starr – rural Portland, Indiana 

2 sons:  Shane Starr (wife Myia) – Dunkirk, Indiana 

Heath Starr – rural Portland, Indiana 

2 daughters:  Cindy Stashenko (husband Gregg) – Ashville, North Carolina 

Nicci Starr – Fishers, Indiana 

4 sisters:  Peggy McKnight (husband Ben) – Winchester, Indiana 

Nancy Hawley – Winchester, Indiana 

Cindy Hart Sparks – Portland, Indiana 

 Tracy Turner (husband Jerry) – Marion, Indiana 

1 brother:  Randy Hart (wife Donna) – Muncie, Indiana 

5 grandchildren:  Jude Johannson, Samuel Stashenko, Jonathan Stashenko, Emily Starr and Joshua Starr. 

 She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Tony Hart and Kerry Hart.  

Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-8 p.m. at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.  

 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Westchester United Methodist Church, 4487 E. 400 N., Portland.  Pastor Darrell Borders will officiate and burial will follow in the Westchester Cemetery.  

Memorials may be directed towards Westchester United Methodist Church.
