The Fort Wayne TinCaps bounced back from a weekend sweep by rallying to beat the Quad Cities River Bandits 6-3 on Monday at Modern Woodburn Park.
The River Bandits (Houston?Astros) built a 2-0 lead in the third inning before the TinCaps (14-17) scored three times in each of the fifth and ninth frames to get the win.
Gabrial Arias had a two-run single in the fifth inning, and added a pair of RBIs in the top of the ninth. Jeisson Rosario also had two RBIs.
TinCaps starter Mason?Thompson earned the win, moving to 3-3 on the year. He allowed two runs on four hits in five innings with a walk and five strikeouts. At one point Thompson retired nine straight batters.
MacKenzie Gore, the No. 2 prospect for the San Diego Padres, was activated from the disabled list this morning.?He had been sidelined since April 11 with a blister on his throwing hand. He was scheduled to start today’s game, which was slated for noon.
