Irene M. Meyer, age 86, of Celina, Ohio, “St. Anthony,” died on May 8, 2018, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio.
She was born April 13, 1932, in Wendelin, Ohio, to the late Edmund and Mary (Reichert) Koesters. On April 21, 1956, she married the late Bernard Meyer, who died Jan. 12, 2000.
She is survived by her four children, Kathleen (Bill) Alig of Celina, Shirley (Andy) Will of Celina, Margie (Tony) Hemmelgarn of Canton, Michigan, and Edward (Teresa) Meyer of Fort Recovery; nine grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; her siblings, Mildred (Ivo) Heitkamp of St. Henry, Rita Gehle of St. Henry, Ralph (Evelyn) Koesters of Coldwater and Howard (Karen) Koesters of St. Henry.
Preceding her in death are her brother-in-law, Wib Gehle, and in-laws, Paul and Helen Jean Meyer.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony, Ohio, and the church's Altar Sodality. Irene enjoyed selling Avon for twenty years, bowling, playing cards and being with family. She was also an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Fr. Richard Walling officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Brockman – Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
