Karen Scott
Karen S. Scott of Portland passed away Tuesday evening at her residence.
She was born in Henry County, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur Richard and Virginia (DeLay) Petty. She was married Feb. 20, 1960, to Robert L. Scott and he died July 2, 2004. She was retired from CTS in Berne and was a member of Portland Moose.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin Scott (wife: Vicky) of Liberty Center and Kenneth Scott (wife: Kim) of Portland; one daughter, Sandra Rodgers of Portland; five brothers, Arthur Richard Petty of Arizona, Robert Petty of Arizona, Raymond Petty of Arizona, Jack Petty of Pennville, Colin Petty of Farmland; three sisters, Martha Crawley of Arizona, Patricia Halstead of Farmland and Sandra Mills of Parker City; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karla Reinhard, and a brother, Ron Petty.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Liber Cemetery with Pastor Randy Smith presiding. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society.
