TinCaps lose third straight

The TinCaps lost for the third consecutive game Wednesday, falling 2-1 to the West Michigan Whitecaps at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock, Michigan.

Fort Wayne (20-25), which wraps up a four-game set against the Whitecaps at 7:05 p.m. tonight, fell behind in the first inning to West Michigan (26-19).

The TinCaps tied the game in the third as Robby Podorsky hit a double to the corner in left field, scoring Jalen Washington from third. Esteury Ruiz was thrown out at the plate attempting to score from third.

West Michigan scored the eventual game-winning run in the sixth.

Aaron Leasher allowed two runs — one earned — on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Justin Lopez, Luis Almanzar and Podorsky both had two hits for the Tincaps.
