James Richards

James L. (Jim) Richards, 83, of Geneva, Indiana, formerly of Redkey, Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur, Indiana.
Jim was born in Troy, Ohio, on Oct. 22, 1935, a son of the late Mildred Madge (Mills) and Ralph Gegenheimer. He was adopted on Jan. 2, 1945, by Vera Dale (Mills) and Carl Kendall Richards.
A 1954 graduate of Redkey High School, he attended Purdue University, University of Dayton and Wright State University. He retired from N.C.R. Corp. in 1975. He was also employed by Frigidaire Division of General Motors, AMETEK Corp. in Grand Prairie, Texas, and The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was an avid marathon runner and masterful wood carver. Jim is survived by three daughters, one son and several grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will be held in Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey, Indiana, privately at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel.
