Anthony Pettinichio

June 1, 1928-Nov. 11, 2018

Anthony Pettinichio, age 90, a resident of Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester. 

Anthony was born on June 1, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Anthony Carmine and Marie (Ventrola) Pettinichio.

He honorably served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from his military service, he worked in wholesale meat sales in Philadelphia and Florida. Locally, he worked as a self-employed contractor for several years. 

He married Rita Hunley on Oct. 1, 1983, and she passed away on Aug. 1, 1996.

His companion — Margaret Randall, Ridgeville, Indiana 

One daughter — Christine Furlong (husband: Bob), Ava Maria, Florida 

Two granddaughters — Julie DiPompo-Doughterty (husband: John) and Laura DiPompo-Din (husband: Omar)

One great-grandson — Alexander Din 

One step-son — Steve Lovell, Winchester, Indiana 

Three step-daughters — Karen Keen (husband: Dave), Portland, Indiana, Lori June Strickland, California, and Leigh Anne Weller, Nashville, Tennessee 

One sister — Rita D’Orazio, Naples, Florida 

Several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. American Legion Post #211 of Portland will conduct military honors at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Private burial will be held on Thursday in New Liberty Cemetery, west of Lynn, Indiana.
