Viola Ogden

Viola E. (Dude) Ogden, 98, of Redkey, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, while in the company of family members at Albany Health Care.
Viola was born in Liberty, Kentucky, on March 21, 1920, a daughter of the late Chloe E. (Vanoy) and Willie H. Cochran. She attended Mitchell School in Mitchell, Indiana, and was the widow of Rex Ogden.
Viola was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafting, leather work, cooking, baking and music. Viola is known all over for the giving spirit she had and the pencil holders she made for local businesses and friends. She was an avid card and cribbage player who was extremely competitive and had a mission to win, so much that at age 82 she rode her bicycle over 21 miles for a church fundraiser.
Viola is survived by two daughters, Sharon Clay of Dunkirk, Indiana, and Brenda Wolfgang (husband: Toni) of Portland, Indiana; two sisters, Virginia Champ of Redkey, Indiana, and Ruth Lloyd of Redkey, Indiana; three grandchildren, Cara Kobza, Mitch Clay and Todd Stephenson; eight great-grandchildren, Isaac Stephenson, Noah Stephenson, Ali Stephenson, Dezera Keen, Ryann Kobza, Brooke Kobza, Gavin Clay and Grant Clay; and one great-great-grandson, Camden Keen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Rex; four brothers, Rollin, Vernon, Earl and Beaster Cochran; six sisters, Vera Doren, Melba Cushman, Lela Hatzell, Lois Besser, Etta Roberts and Louise Reff; and one grandson, Tim Stephenson.
Friends are invited to call Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Redkey Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Phillip Dorries officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
