Clara Denney

Clara L. Denney, age 87, a former Bryant resident, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at her granddaughter’s home in Ossian, Indiana.

She worked at Jay Garment Co. in Portland for 10 years and Kitco in Bluffton, Indiana.

She was a member of the Christian Worship Center in Fiat and loved her Lord Jesus.

Clara and her husband, Bud, helped raise their three grandchildren.

She was a hard worker and never shirked her responsibilities.

Clara Denney was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Arthur and Aimee (Case) Middaugh. She was married Feb. 2, 1950, to Beryl (Bud) Denney and he passed away Feb. 25, 2016.

Survivors include:

One daughter — Sandy Lee, Bryant, Indiana

Three grandchildren — Nena Troutman, Ossian, Indiana, Teresa Beare, Seymour, Indiana, and David Schumacher Jr., Bryant, Indiana

Seven great-grandchildren

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Bill Smith will officiate and burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.

Memorials may be directed to the Christian Worship Center in Fiat. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
