Marjorie Davidson
Marjorie Davidson age 94 of Portland passed away Thursday, November 22, at IU Health Jay. She was born in Randolph County January 13, 1924 the daughter of Walter and Ocie (Nixon) Whitenack. She was married June 5, 1943 to Victor Davidson and he died August 8, 2001. She was a homemaker and beautician. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Deerfield and Ambers Beauty School. She was a member of Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association and Jay County Extension Club-Greene Township.
Richard Davidson (wife: Libby) of Portland, William Davidson (wife: Virginia) of Angola and Randy Davidson (wife: Rhonda) of Pennville, one daughter Sherry Michaels (husband: Dwain) of Greenfield, one brother Leland Whitenack (wife: Charlene) of Ridgeville, brother in law Keith Flesher of Danville, Illinois, sister-in-law Jeannie Weaver (husband: Paul) of Florida, eleven grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Don Whitenack and sister, Joan Whitenack Flesher.
A celebration of life service will be Tuesday November 27, at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastors Darrell Borders and Paul Van Cise presiding. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10:00 a.m.
