Stetler speaking at BSU tonight
CNN’s chief media correspondent, Brian Stetler, will speak tonight at Ball State University.
Stetler, 33, will speak at 8 p.m. in Pruis Hall on “Truthfully Reporting in the ‘Fake News’ Era.”
The event is free and open to the public.
Stetler joined CNN in 2013 after a stint as a media reporter at The New York Times. He’s the author of the best-selling book, “Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV.”
Remembering
Family LifeCare will host a remembrance service this month and two seminars in December.
A candlelight remembrance service for loved ones who have died are scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at the office at 108 S. Jefferson St. in Berne.
Seminars that offer tips to help those who are experiencing grief during the holiday season are set for 6 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Marion office and 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Berne office.
Family LifeCare offers home health, hospice, infusion therapy, palliative care, care management and bereavement services in northeast Indiana.
Bazaar Saturday
Bryant Area Community Center will have its Holiday Bazaar and Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free and lunch will be served throughout the event. For more information, call (260) 997-6418.
Blood drive
A local church will host a December blood drive.
Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold its Leaders Save Lives blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 29 in the basement of the church at 218 E. High St., Portland.
Visit museum
Jay County Historical Museum will host its candlelight tours from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Thien Snipps from Fort Recovery will provide musical entertainment.
The museum will have more than 20 decorated trees, with 17 of those handled by community groups.
Family Day will follow from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 9. There will be crafts for children, and Santa Claus will make a visit.
An open house is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15.
The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday through December to allow visitors to view the decorations and attractions at the museum.
