Lawrence Roberts

Lawrence B. Roberts, 86, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at the Randolph Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 3, 1932, in Lynn, Indiana, to the late Troy Mitchell and Leatha Faye Phenis Roberts. Lawrence was a factory worker and farmer.

He was a member of Praise Chapel Church and Jayland Trotting Association. He raced standard bred horses and loved Indiana University basketball.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Kay Jessup Roberts; children Terry (wife: Rebecca) Roberts of Ridgeville, Susanne (husband: Steve) Detrick of Winchester and Les (wife: Beth) Roberts of Portland; grandchildren Jeff Roberts, Kimberly Bailey, Ericka (husband: Doug) Beitler, Mitchel Roberts, Angela (husband: Rodney) O'Conner, Amber (husband: Sean) Richardson, Ariel (husband: Billy) Green, Preston Roberts, Bryce (wife: Katelyn) Roberts, Jeb Roberts, Marsi (husband: Dr. Justin) Roberts, and Clayton (wife: Mehgan) Reinhart; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jennetta Goubeaux of Witt Springs, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Julie Fisher; and two brothers, Lowell Roberts and Oakland Roberts.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Reichard Funeral Home, 400 W. Deerfield Road, Union City, Indiana. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, with the Rev. Rich Collins and the Rev. David Perry officiating, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Praise Chapel Cemetery.
