Winterfest is this weekend, and the Jay County Public Library has two events that will get you in the spirit.

Before you head out to the Parade of Lights, enjoy a free showing of the movie, “The Man Who Invented Christmas,” the journey that led to Charles Dickens’ creation of “A Christmas Carol,” on Friday at 5 p.m.

Families are invited to attend, and kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Then on Saturday at 1 p.m, the Minnetrista  Theater Group presents live theater in “An Adaptation of a Christmas Carol” here at the Jay County Public Library.

It is free and open to the public.

Bazaar Saturday

Bryant Area Community Center will have its Holiday Bazaar and Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free and lunch will be served throughout the event. For more information, call (260) 997-6418.

Visit museum

Jay County Historical Museum will host its candlelight tours from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Thien Snipps from Fort Recovery will provide musical entertainment.

The museum will have more than 20 decorated trees, with 17 of those handled by community groups.

Family Day will follow from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 9. There will be crafts for children, and Santa Claus will make a visit.

An open house is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday through December to allow visitors to view the decorations and attractions at the museum.
