Onnalee Bickel

Oct. 17, 1923-Nov. 24, 2018

Onnalee L. Bickel, age 95, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, died Nov. 24, 2018, at Persimmon Ridge, Portland, Indiana.

She was born Oct. 17, 1923, in Fort Recovery, to the late Otto and Frona (Huffman) Green. On May 22, 1943, she married Ernest Bickel, who passed away Dec. 6, 2003.

Surviving are her three children, Roger (wife: Sharon) Bickel of Troy, Missouri, Janice (husband: Dick) Fiely of Fort Recovery and Karen (husband: Ron) Ranly of Fort Recovery; a sister, Ruth Reier of Pennville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Michelle, Tom, Heather, Renee, Jeff, Lana and Kevin; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister-in-law, Helen Green of Fort Recovery.

Preceding her in death are her brothers Edward and Paul (Lois) Green.

She was a 1941 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. 

Onnalee was previously employed at the former Jay Garment Co., Portland, and the former Westinghouse plant in Union City, Indiana.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Recovery. Onnalee loved traveling, which included many camping trips with her family. Not only did she enjoy camping with family, she loved the occasional shopping trip, too. In later years, she enjoyed passing the time by crocheting and completing puzzles. 

Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church with pastor Charles Boomhower officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.

Arrangements were handled by Brockman – Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
