Grants are available

A series of grants will be available through a statewide organization.

Indiana Humanities is offering four grant options and hosting workshops and a webinar to help those interested in applying.

The following grants will be available:

•Action Grant — Up to $3,000 for “projects that help people learn new information, consider different perspectives, share ideas and understand one another better"

•Historic Preservation Education Grant — Up to $2,500 for “programs that educate the community about historic places and properties—and particularly about the need to preserve and protect them"

•Innovation Grant — Up to $10,000 for “programs that introduce new ideas, utilize unique approaches and/or reach underserved audiences”

•Collaboration Grant — Up to $20,000 for non-profit groups that deliver in-depth public humanities programming.

A grant workshop is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne.

Remembering

Family LifeCare will host seminars that offer tips to help those who are experiencing grief during the holiday season at 6 p.m. Monday at the office at 705 S. Baldwin Ave. in Marion and 6 p.m. Thursday at the office at 108 S. Jefferson St. in Berne.

Family LifeCare offers home health, hospice, infusion therapy, palliative care, care management and bereavement services in northeast Indiana.

Seeking help

As part of its AngelWish program, LifeStream Services is seeking assistance to provide help to isolated seniors during the holiday season.

The program coordinates delivery of food, personal care items and gifts to seniors and those with disabilities. Nearly 1,500 packages were delivered last year.

Those interested in participating can do so by volunteering to pack gifts or deliver bags, or by donating items such as peanut butter, soups, lotions, shampoo, deodorant, soap and toilet paper.
