Don’t send Donnelly back to Senate
To the editor:
When he was in the House, Joe Donnelly voted to make extreme left wing San Francisco liberal zealot Nancy Pelosi next in line after Biden to be President of the United States. In the Senate he voted to make extreme Donald Trump hater and 35 year anti-gun crusader Chuck Schumer leader of his party in the Senate.
If the Democrats gain only one seat in the Senate, returning Donnelly to Congress would make Schumer the Senate Majority Leader and end the appointment of honest constitutionalist judges, block the entire Trump agenda and spell an end to real progress in America.
With 67 percent of Hoosiers opposed to ObamaCare, Donnelly was the deciding vote for it. And that was after promising his district he would not vote for the Affordable Care Act with government funded abortions. He was also the deciding vote that stopped the repeal of ObamaCare. He even voted against the tax cut for Hoosiers.
Evan Bayh retired because his Democrat bosses had made him cast more liberal votes than he could hide from Indiana voters.
Like Bayh, Donnelly is allowed to vote conservative when his vote won’t change the outcome, but it is highly unlikely he will vote against his bosses if his vote is really needed.
Donnelly may be there for Schumer and Pelosi, but he is not there for me.
