Craft event is Tuesday
It’s time to get crafting.
Jay County Extension Homemakers will host “Come Craft With Us” from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 4-H Building at Jay County Fairgrounds.
The free event will feature extension homemakers doing demonstrations on basic sewing, patching and counter cross stitch. There will also be candy-making and leather craft demonstrations.
Bettie Jacobs of Jay County Soil and Water Conservation District and Jay County Solid Waste Management District will also be doing a craft, and IU Health Jay will offer blood pressure checks.

Tour the house
Senior citizens are invited to take a day trip Oct. 23 to the Levi Coffin House and Warm Glow Candle Show.
The event is open to anyone 55 or older, with the tour leaving the Arthur & Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion at Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St., Berne, at 8:45 a.m. The cost is $15, which includes transportation and a ticket to Levi Coffin House.

Items needed
Volunteers at Arts Place have begun collecting items for the 36th annual holiday benefit auction, set for Friday, Nov. 16.
The auction, which regularly draws about 200 people to Goodrich Hall at Arts Place, will begin at 6 p.m. The doors will open at 5 p.m. so guests can browse through auction items.

Adams Memorial Hospital is hosting a variety of events in the coming month.
A Kids’ Health Fair is scheduled for 3:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Berne Classroom at the hospital. Children can get a flu shot at a charge of $32, and trick-or-treating will be available.
Other events include:
•League of the Blind and Disabled — A new support group for the blind will meet from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Geneva Room.
•CPR and first aid training — 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 5. The cost is $50. To register, call (260) 724-2145.
•Child birth education class — 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Monroe Room. Call (260) 724-2145 to schedule.
Workshop set
LifeStream will host its Caregiver Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 1 at Kennedy Library in Muncie.
Presenters speaking from 9 to 11 a.m. will include an overview of LifeStream programs and services, discussion of transition care for those leaving a hospital or nursing facilities, take care of someone with diabetes, assessing heart health and lowering risk, resources and advocacy and vaccinations.
From 11 a.m. to noon, presenters will be available with information and to answer individual questions.
