Thomas Walter

Thomas Joe Walter, 72, passed away on Oct. 5, 2018, at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He was born on Aug. 4, 1946, in Portland, Indiana. Tom lived most of his life in Portland while pursuing entrepreneurial opportunities in trucking, auto repair and auto sales. 

Tom and his wife Sherry relocated to Myrtle Beach in 1998. 

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Walter; son Aaron Walter (Stephanie), Dunkirk, Indiana; daughter Angie Stuckey Pogue (Josh), Portland, Indiana; daughter Carrie Schmit (Joe), Portland, Indiana; stepson Josh McDaniel (Marilyn), Surfside Beach, South Carolina; daughter Mandi Ammons (Ryan), Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; father Harold Walter, Albany, Indiana; brother John Walter (Jill), Pennville, Indiana; sister Bonnie Wables (Gary), Portland, Indiana; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Bernadette Walter; grandson, Austin Walter; and granddaughter, Abigale McDaniel. 

Tom was most known in Jay County, Indiana, for his business of T&S Auto Sales with the palm trees.

Memorial service will be private.
