Shane Gleeson
Shane A. Gleeson, 60, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, in Gilbert, Arizona, following a brief illness.
Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on Jan. 9, 1958, Shane grew up in Dunkirk and graduated from Delta High School in 1976. He also attended Ball State University, where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree.
Shane worked at Indiana Glass in Dunkirk for 18 years where he was a member of the International Glass Workers Union of America #501 as a committeeman, shop steward and president.
He was also a realtor in Muncie for 11 years. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors, served on the Board of Directors for the Midwestern Association of Realtors, served on the MLS Advisory Board, was given the Milestone award in 2013 and ended his real estate career as a broker for Berkshire Hathaway in 2015.
For the last three years, Shane worked in Gilbert, Arizona, as a permit manager at Gleeson Mobile Home Service.
He enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends, and always enjoyed a good conversation or joke.
Survivors include his daughters, Brittney Chambers (husband: Ryan Cole), Muncie, and Heather Whitmire (husband: Henry), Muncie; a son, Trenton Gleeson (wife: Shayna), Muncie; three brothers, Terry Gleeson (wife: Patricia), Gilbert, Arizona, Randy Gleeson (wife: Katina), Gaston, and Chris Gleeson (wife: Adriana), Gilbert, Arizona; three grandchildren, Paislee and Sophia Chambers, and Rory Gleeson; several nieces and nephews; and his girlfriend, Becky Taylor, Arizona.
His was preceded in death by his parents, Gene R. and Darlene (Bayman) Gleeson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
