Area residents will have the chance to get some help with Medicare Part D.
LifeStream Services is hosting a series of Medicare Part D consultation sessions with State Health Insurance Program counselors.
Participants can enroll for the first time or change their existing plan. Those who attend should also bring their Medicare cards and a list of their medications.
Sessions are scheduled for:
• 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester.
•9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 30 at Forest Park Senior Center and Silver Birch, both of Muncie.
•9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at CrownPointe in Hartford City.
•9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 at IU Health Jay.
•9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 16 at Farmland Community Center.

Items needed
Volunteers at Arts Place have begun collecting items for the 36th annual holiday benefit auction, set for Friday, Nov. 16.
The auction, which regularly draws about 200 people to Goodrich Hall at Arts Place, will begin at 6 p.m. The doors will open at 5 p.m. so guests can browse through auction items.

Tour the house
Senior citizens are invited to take a day trip Oct. 23 to the Levi Coffin House and Warm Glow Candle Show.
The event is open to anyone 55 or older, with the tour leaving the Arthur & Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion at Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St., Berne, at 8:45 a.m. The cost is $15, which includes transportation and a ticket to Levi Coffin House.

Adams Memorial Hospital is hosting a variety of events in the coming month.
A Kids’ Health Fair is scheduled for 3:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Berne Classroom at the hospital. Children can get a flu shot at a charge of $32, and trick-or-treating will be available.
Other events include:
•League of the Blind and Disabled — A new support group for the blind will meet from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Geneva Room.
•CPR and first aid training — 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 5. The cost is $50. To register, call (260) 724-2145.

Drug take-back
Fort Recovery Police Department will have a drug take-back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at village hall, 201 Main St., Fort Recovery.
The event offers the community a chance to properly dispose of any unused or expired medications and prescription drugs. Liquids and needles will not be accepted.
Drive scheduled
The Red Cross will host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at Portland Fire Department, 1616 N. Franklin St.
