Larry Bogenschutz
Larry J. Bogenschutz Sr., 69, formerly of Dunkirk, Indiana, currently of Marion, Indiana, passed away peacefully while in the company of family members at his residence.
Larry was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Oct. 18, 1948, a son of the late Roselyn Otine (Davenport) and Bernard Bogenschutz.
Larry was a retired machine operator at Armstrong Cork/Kerr Glass in Dunkirk, Indiana.
He was the loving husband of Dachia Lynn (Hutcheson) Bogenschutz, who he happily married on Oct. 21, 2015.
Larry was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Hartford City, Indiana, and Local 121 Operators Union, and an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. He enjoyed aluminum recycling, metal detecting, fishing, golfing, baseball, high school basketball and country music.
Larry is survived by two sons, Larry J. Jr. (wife: Robyn) from Anderson, Indiana, and Chad Bogenschutz of Plymouth, Indiana; one stepson, Brandon Hutcheson from Marion, Indiana; one brother, Ronnie Bogenschutz of Dunkirk, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Diane Bogenschutz of Garrett, Indiana; five grandkids, Shane Bogenschutz (wife: Torrie) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Derek Bogenschutz of Redkey, Indiana, Misty Alley (husband: Jay) of Muncie, Indiana, Crystal Leslie of Evansville, Indiana, and Heather Gallagher of Greenwood, Indiana; one step-granddaughter, Kinleigh Hutcheson; 12 great-grandchildren, five nephews, one niece and three step-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Roselyn Bogenschutz and two brothers, Steve and Jeff B. Bogenschutz.
Calling hours will be Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MJS Mortuaries – Dunkirk Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Father David Newton officiating. Burial will be held in Dunkirk I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Marion General Progressive Cancer Care in Marion, Indiana.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Dunkirk Chapel.
