FAFSA help is offered
Prospective college students can get assistance with applying for financial aid on “College Goal Sunday” later this month.
Taking place across dozens of locations in Indiana, the event from 2 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 28 will help students and their families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Financial aid experts will be on hand to assist with the applications.
Area locations offering help are:
•Ivy Tech Community College — Muncie, South Instructional Building, Room 125, 4301 S. Cowan Road, Muncie
•Ivy Tech Community College — Fort Wayne, 3800 N. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne
•Richmond High School, 380 Hub Etchison Parkway, Richmond

Get screened
Fort Wayne Dermatology will offer free skin cancer screenings in October in Adams County.
Screenings will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Wayne Dermatology’s Decatur office in Adams Memorial Hospital’s Physician Office Building, 815 High St., Suite B, Decatur. To schedule an appointment, call (260) 724-2145, extension 11068.
Items needed
Volunteers at Arts Place are collecting items for the 36th annual holiday benefit auction, set for Friday, Nov. 16.
The auction, which regularly draws about 200 people to Goodrich Hall at Arts Place, will begin at 6 p.m. The doors will open at 5 p.m. so guests can browse through auction items.

Drive scheduled
The Red Cross will host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Portland Fire Department, 1616 N. Franklin St.
