Flyers thrash Tribe
MARIA STEIN, Ohio — Prior to eking out a 7-6 win last week over Minster, Marion Local had scored at least 28 points in every game and surpassed 40 six times.
Hosting the Indians Friday, the top-ranked team in the state got back to its norm.
The Fort Recovery High School football team allowed touchdowns on all five of the Flyers’ first-half drivers as they fell 50-14 to the defending Division VI state champions.
Marion Local (9-0, 7-0 Midwest Athletic Conference) needed just six plays and less than two minutes to get on the board Friday night on a 5-yard run by Brandon Fleck. He scored again at the 2:39 mark of the first quarter before turning things over to Nolan Habodasz.

Fort Recovery (3-6, 1-6 MAC) got on the board on a 39-yard pass from Clay Schmitz to Gavin Thobe, and quarterback Nathan Bruns responded with another Marion Local TD to give his team a 37-7 halftime advantage.
Bruns finished 8-of-13 through the air for 214 yards and a second-half touchdown to Nick Tangeman.
