Ginn panel is Tuesday

Taking Note

The 1950 slaying of Portland High School teacher Garnett Ginn has long fascinated local historians and amateur detectives.

Retired Indiana State Police forensic expert Mike Medler will lead a “cold case” panel discussion of the case at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at Jay County Historical Museum, 930 E. Main St., Portland.

The public is invited to attend. 



Hosting fair

Adams Memorial Hospital is hosting a variety of events in the coming month.

A Kids’ Health Fair is scheduled for 3:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Berne Classroom at the hospital. Children can get a flu shot at a charge of $32, and trick-or-treating will be available.



Fiscal help

Fort Recovery Public Library will host “Minding the Business While Changing the World: Reporting and Fiduciary Responsibilities” at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The event will serve as training for local non-profit organizations. it will include a review of requirements for charitable organizations and tips for board members.

There will also be a Fort Recovery Friends of the Library meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
