Marilyn Cobbum

Marilyn Sue “Mare” Cobbum, 82, of Bluffton passed away on Saturday evening, Oct. 28, 2018, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton.

She was born on Jan. 17, 1936, in Jay County, Indiana, to Herman L. & Fern I. (Armentrout) Tyndall. Sue graduated from Portland High School and worked as a certified operation room technician for the Caylor-Nickel Clinic for over 40 years.

She loved her family and was happiest in life surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters, Bev (Brent) Urshel of Ossian, Linda (Mike) Smith of Van Buren, Pam (Tom) Hamilton of Bluffton and Brenda (Jim) Fair of Garrett; along with 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Tyndall of Portland.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Richard Cobbum; and a brother, Jim Tyndall.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Rich Secor officiating. Calling hours will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton.

Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation through the funeral home.
