TIFFIN, Ohio — A Tribe senior will end her cross country career at the state meet.
Chloe Will, a Fort Recovery High School senior, was 25th overall Saturday in the cross country regional meet at Hedges Boyer Park to earn a berth in the state finals.
The Indian girls were ninth as a team, one position behind the final state qualifying squad. As an individual, Drew Muhlenkamp had his junior season end.
The top eight teams and top 32 individuals qualify for the state finals, which will be contested Saturday at National Trail Raceway in Hebron.
Will finished 25th with her time of 20 minutes, 7.29 seconds, to make state for the second consecutive year.
Sophomore Anna Wendel came in 66th for the Indians in 21:18.87, and Sarah Siefring was 97th in 21:52.89.
Alyssa Henrichs (21:57.25) placed 100th, and Hannah Metzger (22:10.14) completed the team total by finishing 114th.
Minster, which was state runner-up last season, won the team title with 40 points. Archbold (102), Liberty Center (126), Coldwater (214), Lincolnview (225), Columbus Grove (234) New London (263) and Crestview (266) all made state. Fort Recovery finished with 298 points.
Elise Gehle (117th) and Kendra Metzger (123rd) also ran for the FRHS girls.
Muhlenkamp placed 124th in 18:32.53.
