ST. HENRY, Ohio — The Indians finally met their match this season.
They’ll have some time to fix things for the next meeting.
The Fort Recovery High School volleyball team had its eight-match winning streak come to a close on Saturday as it fell to the St. Henry Redskins in the Redskin Invitational it hosted.
Fort Recovery (8-1) opened the tournament with wins over Buckeye Central (25-20, 27-25) and Russia (25-12, 25-9) before falling to the host Redskins (25-18, 17-25, 25-12).
The Tribe hosts St. Henry in its Midwest Athletic Conference tilt Oct. 4 at Fort Site Fieldhouse.
Paige Fortkamp collected 24 kills for the tournament, with Cassy Martin adding 22. Paige Jutte and Brooke Gaerke had a dozen kills each. Olivia Patch and Gaerke both had eight blocks to share the team lead.
Madi Rammel recorded 63 assists, and Hannah Knapke tallied 39 digs.
